Nurse the Dead is a supernatural dark comedy that follows Noa Reyes, a hardworking and ambitious Filipina nurse supervisor whose life is anything but ordinary. Working in a hospital ward plagued by restless spirits, Noa possesses a rare gift known as the “third eye,” allowing her to see and interact with ghosts. What should be a demanding healthcare job becomes even more complicated as she finds herself acting as the unofficial mediator between the living and the dead.
As the person most capable of dealing with the ward’s paranormal residents, Noa is constantly called upon to resolve supernatural disturbances while continuing to manage the everyday pressures of hospital life. Alongside demanding spirits, she must also cope with exhausted staff members, workplace challenges, family responsibilities, and the emotional toll that comes with caring for others. Her unusual ability often places her in situations that are equal parts chaotic, humorous, and emotionally revealing.
The series balances comedy with heartfelt drama, using its ghost-filled setting to explore deeper themes of grief, healing, sacrifice, and human connection. As Noa navigates encounters with the dead, she is also forced to confront the struggles of her own life and the expectations placed upon her as a healthcare professional. Her journey becomes one of resilience, compassion, and self-discovery as she learns that helping others—whether living or deceased—often means facing her own fears and vulnerabilities.
Set in a haunted Los Angeles hospital and inspired by the experiences of Filipino nurses abroad, Nurse the Dead blends supernatural comedy, workplace drama, and cultural storytelling into a unique and entertaining series. Through laughter, ghostly encounters, and moments of genuine emotion, the drama highlights the dedication of healthcare workers while delivering a fresh take on the supernatural genre.
